Sabine Remy is an analog collage artist collaborating with other (collage) artists all over the world / in each continent in different projects.
She will continue to develop her open collage studio practice at Sulfur Studios, working specifically with American paper material for herself, and will host a workshop initiating collaborative projects which will end up in an exhibition in the studio at the end of the residency - kind of assembling a magazine with contributions of all participants.
Friday, 18th January 2-5 pm
Sabine will tell a bit about collage material, tools and how you can start a collage.
After a short introduction participants will collage together – and can begin a collaborative collage
The workshop is about practice – not an art-historical lecture
We will have a few supplies on hand, but you may want to bring your own scissors, cutters (exacto knife), ruler, cutting mats or thick cardboard, glue, tape and paper material, which could include old books, magazines, newspapers, ephemera like for example bottle labels, envelopes, packaging material, stamps, photographs, sheet music, business cards, postcards .....….. anything with pictures inside!
