Soft: A Sculpture Exhibition

January 17 - February 2nd

The Gallery at Sulfur Studios invites artists to submit work for their winter call for entry exhibition “Soft: A Sculpture Exhibition”.  Submitted work must be three-dimensional (stand alone, relief or installation) and must be made at least partially of soft materials, which could include fiber, rubber, plastics or any other pliable material.  

Artist are asked to consider the following:

How does working in soft materials affect the presence and impact of sculptural forms?  What can be gained/what is compromised when rigidity is abandoned for flexibility?

Work must weigh less than 75 pounds and fit through a standard size doorway.  Shipping and insurance to and from the gallery will be the responsibility of the artist. Sulfur Studios will handle all sales and a 30% commission will be retained by the gallery. Work does not have to be for sale.

Important Dates:

Entries Due: Friday, December 14th, 2018 by 11:59pm

Artists notified: December 18th

Work received by gallery before: January 15th 2019

Opening Reception: January 18th 6-9pm

Exhibition runs: January 17th - February 2nd, 2019

Work returned : Week of February 4th

To apply:

Click here to pay the $15.00 entry fee ($10.00 for artist members) for up to 3 works.  If you’d like to submit more than 3 pieces you can pay an additional entry fee.

Send an email to with images of your submissions as attachments.  Web quality images around 1000 pixels on the longest size are preferred. You may submit one full and one detail image of each work.

Also include an inventory list with title, material, year created, dimensions and price.

If you’d like to include a statement that puts your work in context you may, but please do not send CVs or artist bios, as work will be judged blind.
